Why Your Brain Loves a Sound Bath (Even If You’re Not That Kind of Person)
Dear Creative Diary,
I did something wild the other day.
I laid down.
On the floor.
With strangers.
And it was glorious.
Now before you call it a nap (which, fair), let me explain—it was a sound bath, and Amy from Soul Energy Evolution was guiding the whole thing with her magical rainbow of quartz crystal bowls. And when I say rainbow, I mean actual rainbow—each one tuned to a different chakra and glowing like pastel candy for your soul.
At first, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’ve hosted these events, sure—but this time, I joined in. I plopped down on my mat, tucked a fuzzy blanket around my feet, and let myself just… exist. Amy started playing, and the sound moved through the room like silk in water—vibrations dancing through the air and somehow also through my spine?
And then… stillness. Not the awkward, too-quiet kind. The good kind. The kind that feels like your nervous system finally found the “off” switch and went, “Oh hey, THIS is what we needed.”
I don’t remember the exact moment I let go of my to-do list. I just remember my shoulders suddenly being down where they’re supposed to be, my breath slowing down, and a strange but wonderful sense that I’d pressed some cosmic reset button.
The bowls kept singing. Some high, some low. Some felt like they knew my secrets. One might have tried to rewire my brain. I think it succeeded.
By the end, I didn’t want to move. I wanted to roll myself up like a sushi roll of peace and stay there forever.
So if you’ve been wondering whether lying on a floor while crystal bowls sing lullabies to your cells is worth it?
It is.
Join me next time. We’ll lay down. We’ll breathe. We’ll let Amy work her magic.
And if you do fall asleep? I won’t judge. I’ll probably already be snoring.
Love and long exhales,
Darcy
So What Actually Happens at a Sound Bath?
You come in. You take off your shoes. You find a cozy spot with a yoga mat or blanket or even one of our studio chairs.
You breathe.
And then the facilitator begins playing instruments designed to create rich, resonant vibrations—like gongs, crystal singing bowls, chimes, and other delightfully mystical soundmakers.
There’s no talking.
No trying.
No need to understand what a chakra is.
You just lie there, and the sound moves through the space. Your body and brain do the rest. (Yes, even if your brain is suspicious and loud. Sound baths actually love skeptical brains.)

Why Bother?
Because your mind is tired.
Because the world is loud in the wrong ways.
Because you can’t remember the last time you just existed without being productive.
Sound baths help:
- Soothe anxiety and stress
- Improve focus and sleep
- Spark creativity (without requiring glitter)
- Give your body a break it didn’t know it needed
It’s like a spa treatment for your nervous system—but you don’t have to get undressed or tip anyone.
Who Shows Up?
All kinds of people.
Moms. Teachers. Accountants. Artists. Totally-not-woo people. People who secretly are woo but don’t talk about it.
No experience is necessary. No flexibility required. No one will make you say “om” unless you want to. (You totally can. Just not required.)
We keep the space warm, welcoming, and totally non-cringe. You don’t need to have a favorite moon phase to come. You just need to show up, breathe, and let the sound do the work.
When’s the Next One?
We’re planning upcoming sound baths that align with full moons, seasonal shifts, and occasionally just “because we need it.”

Until next time,
Stay weird. Stay well.
