Princesses are Coming to The Jam!

There’s glitter in my jeep again.
Which can only mean one thing: the princesses are coming back to The Jam.

I still have castle cookie crumbs in the corners of my car and glitter in places that shouldn’t be sparkly from the last princess event, and honestly? No regrets.

Our last princess event was pure magic—like, actual magic. Belle read stories like she was born to do it (because she kind of was). Rapunzel gave tips on watercolor painting that had kids and parents hovering around her like she was a living Pinterest board. The cookies? Don’t even get me started—beautifully iced castles and crowns that looked too perfect to eat (but were very much eaten).

The kids showed up glowing—draped in princess gowns, tiaras, fairy wings, and uncontainable excitement. And the parents? They beamed just as brightly, watching their little ones soak up every story, every sparkle, every sweet, sugar-dusted moment.

Oh—and how could I forget? Princess Unicorn herself was there, greeting guests at the door with all the sparkle, sweetness, and just a dash of unicorn sass we could ask for. She set the tone, and the tone was: “Yes, dreams are real.”

The goody baskets were absolutely stuffed—like “this could double as a workout” kind of stuffed. Packed with treats, crafts, and treasures that kept the magic going long after the car ride home.

Now, I used to think I was too grown-up, too grounded, too much of a “realist” to get excited about princess events.
But that was before Belle sat on the floor of my studio and read a story about the Beast—and I watched a group of kids lean in like she was revealing the mysteries of the universe.

It was before Rapunzel spun through the room with a literal garden braided into her hair, and one little girl whispered, “Her hair is like a magic rope.”
(It was. I agreed.)

And it was definitely before I realized that this whole thing—this fairy tale moment wrapped in cookies and crafts—isn’t just about tiaras.
It’s about wonder.
It’s about watching a room full of kids believe, fully and completely, in the power of kindness, creativity, and a little sparkle.

And now… I get to do it again. Princesses are coming back to The Creative Jam!

This time, I’m welcoming Cinderella and Tinker Bell to The Jam. Yes, that Cinderella. And that Tinker Bell. We’ll be painting fairy houses, weaving unicorn dreamcatchers, nibbling on sparkly princess cookies, and posing for royal photos. The kind of magical chaos I now live for.

But here’s what I really love about these events:
It’s not just about dressing up or getting a good photo.
It’s about watching shy kids find their voice.
It’s about watching parents melt a little, seeing their child seen and celebrated.
It’s about giving kids a space to be themselves—loud, quiet, curious, unsure, giggly, bedazzled.

And yes, I know some folks roll their eyes at princess stuff.
But you know what? I’ve seen Belle gently guide a room of wiggly toddlers through a full storytime, and I’ve watched Rapunzel teach a child how to glue a flower to a fairy wing with the patience of a saint.
So I’m going to keep rolling out the welcome mat (and probably the glitter tarp), because this kind of joy?
It sticks with you—sometimes literally.

These events are more than a meet-and-greet. They’re immersive, imaginative, joy-filled creative experiences. And every time I see a child light up—not just from meeting a character, but from making something with their own hands—I’m reminded why I do this.

So yes, we’re doing it again. Bigger gowns. Smaller wings. Same joyful, creative chaos.

And I. Can’t. Wait.

So come join us in welcoming the Princesses back to The Creative Jam… Dress up, or don’t. Craft and twirl, or just snack and soak it in.
I’ll be the one sweeping up rhinestones afterward, smiling like a kid who just met her hero.
