Dear Creative Diary,
Okay. So. I may have accidentally planned a battle between witches.
Not a real one, obviously.
It started as a totally reasonable idea—“Let’s do something fun for the WICKED movie release.” You know, a little Glinda glam here, a little Elphaba edge there. Sprinkle in some glitter. Maybe a themed snack or two.
But now it’s a full-blown Team Pink vs. Team Green showdown with swag bags, a table decorating contest that will absolutely escalate into a Broadway-level set design competition, and possibly a flying monkey plush or twelve. Buckle up… This is the time where The Creative Jam gets wicked!
How did we get here, diary? I genuinely don’t know.
What I do know is this: I love it. I love every extra, dramatic, slightly unhinged minute of it.
Because the thing is… there’s something kind of perfect about WICKED as a theme. It’s about being misunderstood and bold and magical and too much—and those are exactly the kinds of people who walk through the doors at Creative Jam.
People who show up as they are, in pink or green or polka dots, and say, “Hey, I made this weird, sparkly thing. Wanna see?”
And I do. I always do.
So now we’ve got a Friday night warm-up for the over-preparers, a prize for the most “wicked” table (which I cannot wait to judge), and enough scrapbook fuel to power a bubble ride to the Emerald City.
The swag bags will be pink or green, depending on your allegiance—but don’t worry, they’re equally magical inside. No one’s getting left behind in Munchkinland.
And yes, someone already asked if they could wear a witch hat the entire weekend.
(Obviously, the answer is yes.)
Anyway. I should go wash the glitter off my elbows and figure out how to store thirty identical-but-dramatically-different swag bags. But I just had to write it all down.
I’m not sure if I’m building a retreat… or accidentally summoning a coven.
Either way—it’s going to be magic.
