Dear Creative Diary,
Do you ever have one of those nights where you’re holding a glass of wine in one hand and a pile of sparkly mosaic tiles in the other and think, “Well, I’ve peaked”? That’s exactly where we’re headed. Because on October 3rd, the Creative Jam is packing up our glue, beads, and questionable sense of color coordination and moving into the cozy glow of Ledge Rock Hill Winery (1776 Route 9, Lake George, NY)
Yes, a winery. Because clearly lamps aren’t enough!
We had to partner with another small business that allows us to add some local adult beverages into the mix. (Is it possible to bedazzle faster after a glass or two? Jury’s out, but we’re willing to collect the data.)
Here’s the scene I’m picturing: long tables lined with crescent moon, swan-neck, and table lamp bases… Each waiting patiently to become a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. A hum of conversation, laughter, maybe even a whispered “oops” as someone sticks a jewel to their wine glass instead of their lamp. Meanwhile, I’ll be quietly delighted that everyone looks like they just wandered into a Turkish bazaar by way of the Adirondacks.
Will your lamp be bold and glittery? Moody and jewel-toned? Accidentally avant-garde because your pattern skills gave out halfway through? Doesn’t matter because it will still be beautiful. Because the real magic is the memory… The night you spent sipping, sticking, and creating under the rafters of a Lake George winery with a bunch of other mischief-makers who also couldn’t resist.
I can already see it glowing on your nightstand, whispering stories of that evening when the ordinary became extraordinary. And every time you flip it on, you’ll remember: I made this. I really did that.
